As a result of observations of traffic congestion, particularly during the rush hour, the LRIA has requested enhanced traffic signaling on Hillen Road, at E. Northern Parkway, to include left-turn arrows in both the northbound and southbound directions. This upgrade will lessen the impact of aggressive driving, intersection encroachment, and red-light violations at this location.

Have you ever experienced an aggressive-driving episode on this corridor? We have, and it's dangerous!
Observations have been reported that speeding vehicles have been illegally passing other vehicles, by using the very narrow "slow" lane of this southbound corridor, sending wary drivers dangerously into the path of northbound traffic. The LRIA has requested a traffic study for single-lane reduction on southbound Hillen Road, from E. Northern Parkway to Waveworth Way.

Traffic accidents continue to abound at the fenced area at the Augustine J. Ryan Memorial Bird Sanctuary (6000 block Hillen Road). Roadway rumble-strips have now been installed in the northbound lane (southbound pending), in an attempt to reduce traffic speed when entering this bend in the roadway .
