COMMITTEES

Volunteers are an essential element in the growth and development of any organization.

The Loch Raven Improvement Association, in particular, could not achieve the goals that we strive to obtain each year without the selfless efforts of each of our volunteers.

But we need more residents to get involved!!!

Neighborhood residents are highly encouraged to participate in any number of available committees.

Opportunities are always available in either leadership or support roles, in any program or activity, based on your personal or professional skill set, commitment, or passion.

The ultimate goal of committee engagement is to encourage teamwork and camaraderie among residents, to ultimately propose, plan, and implement projects that strengthen our community.

Reasons to join a committee:

  • Share experiences and identify best practices that add value not only to the Association, but to your personal life
  • Develop leadership skills, including those associated with problem solving and time management
  • See lasting changes that result from your work or project that you embrace
  • Make lasting contacts that can provide advice, guidance, moral support, and friendship

We truly believe that you will find your experience as a LRIA volunteer to be extremely rewarding.

Membership & Fundraising

Membership & Fundraising

This group of dedicated volunteers collaborate in earnest to formulate short and long-term strategies on recruitment, engagement, and retention of membership within the LRIA.  The committee also establishes an agenda to raise funds through grants, events, and promotions, to insure the financial viability of the Association.

Housing & Sanitation

This committee implements strategies to address community-wide sanitation, environmental issues, and derelict housing conditions that have negative impact on our neighborhood.  The team also schedules and conducts  housing inspections of the entire LRIA catchment area for code compliance.

Safety

These residents actively participate in community safety initiatives as  introduced by various law-enforcement partners.  This committee is also active in the Citizens Patrol which, by canvassing our area by motor vehicle, monitors and reports unlawful activity to the appropriate authority.  Volunteers choose the days and times they wish to patrol and they adhere to no fixed schedule.
